Maximinus II, as Caesar, 305-309. Follis (Bronze, 23 mm, 7.19 g, 12 h), Antiochia, 309. MAXIMINVS NOB CAES Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Maximinus II to left, holding spear over his right shoulder and shield, decorated with two horsemen riding to left and four captives below them; on cuirass, gorgoneion; crest of the helmet ending in griffin. Rev. VIRTVS EX-ERCITVS / S / ANT Mars standing front, head to left, resting his right hand on shield set on ground and holding spear in his left; in field to left, lighted altar. RIC 125. Rare and with a very impressive bust type. Some traces of corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
